Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System
The National Tsunami Warning Centres (NTWC) of individual countries, through bilateral agreements, selected the RTSP(s) from which they wished to access tsunami alerts. Ultimately it is the NTWCs, operating within the legal framework of the sovereign nation in which they reside and serve, that determine and provide in country alerts to their citizens.
