tsunamiguidelineports october2011This guide could help the port operators to develop strategies to prepare for, respond to and recover from a tsunami. The guide contains: basic information about tsunamis, the hazard in port facilities and the tsunami history in the Caribbean. Preparedness sections discuss planning topics including a port's physical characteristics, security and communications.

The guide was developed in 2011 by a partnership between the National Science Foundation, Red Sismica de Puerto Rico, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and NOAA's National Weather Service.
